Ward – Care in the Chaos: Pitfalls in Post-disaster and Conflict

The lecture today is presented by Clay Ward, PA-C, and is entitled “Care in the Chaos: Pitfalls in Post-disaster and Conflict Response”

Clay is the CEO of Nereus Medical Solutions. Prior to founding Nereus, he spent 24 years in the United States Navy, enlisting as a Hospital Corpsman (combat medic) and culminating his career as a Lieutenant Commander and Medical Officer with Naval Special Warfare Development Group. His career spanned numerous deployments providing medical care in austere environments around the world. While assigned to Naval Special Warfare, he was recognized as a subject matter expert regarding medical contingency planning and risk mitigation. He received numerous personal awards during his military service, to include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and Bronze Star. Additionally, Clay has provided medical care and training in Haiti, and led the initial medical response effort in the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian.
